You can find Ramesh Sharma & Co. on the second floor of RS Tower, which is located on Masjid Road in Golmuri. It is a bit of a climb if the lift isn't working, but we are used to it by now. Our office is number 202, and it is usually filled with the sound of calculators and the ruffling of paper. We handle a lot of different things, mostly helping people with their taxes or business registrations. It is the kind of place where files are stacked high on every available surface, and there is always a blue pen missing when you need it. Golmuri is a crowded part of town, so there is always a lot of noise coming up from Masjid Road below. We have a few assistants who help with the typing and the filing, and we spend most of our day sitting behind desks looking at numbers. It’s not an exciting job, but it is important for the small shopkeepers and families who come to see us. We don't use big words or try to act like we are better than anyone else. We just explain the rules and tell people what they need to sign. Sometimes we stay late when it is the end of the financial year, and the office gets even more crowded with people rushing in at the last minute. It is just a steady, quiet life of paperwork and helping neighbors stay on the right side of the law.
