New Studio Chawla

I get to Shop No.-10 on the first floor of Seagull Apartment pretty early, usually before the rest of the New SNP Area really starts waking up. The stairs up to the studio can be a bit steep if you are carrying heavy bags, but you get used to it after a week or two. There is a small window in the back that looks out over the street, and I like to watch the traffic start to pick up while I am getting the lights ready. New Studio Chawla has been in this spot for a while now. The apartment building itself is older, so sometimes the doors creak or the hallway light flickers, but it feels like home to us. We spend a lot of time just moving furniture around to make sure the backdrops look right and checking the lenses for dust. It gets quite warm in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the building, so we usually have the fan going full blast. Most days are just about organizing files on the computer and making sure the printers have enough ink for whatever comes next. It is not a fancy place, just a regular workspace where we get things done. Sometimes the neighbors from the other shops come by to chat for a minute, which is nice. By the time evening rolls around, the whole SNP area is noisy and full of people, and we start packing up our things to head out.
