Damodar Valley Corporation. (A Govt. Of India Undertaking)

We are based over in Jamshedpur at the Nildih Colony. The office is at Me-16 & Vc, right near the Telco Works area. It’s a very industrial part of town, which makes sense for what we do here with the corporation. Being a government undertaking means there is always a lot of procedure and paperwork to follow every single day. Our desks are usually piled high with forms and reports that need checking and stamping. The colony is a bit older, so the buildings have that solid, lived-in look to them that you don't see in new developments. We have a small team here and everyone knows their job. It is not the kind of place where things change overnight or where we use a lot of fancy technology. We have a routine and we stick to it. Most of the talk in the break room is about the local power grid or how the latest maintenance cycle is going at the worksites. We get a lot of visitors from the nearby areas coming in to sign things or drop off supplies for the projects. The fans are always humming in the summer because it gets quite hot in Jamshedpur during the day. We don’t really do any self-promotion or advertising. We just handle the valley corporation's business in this district and make sure things stay on track. It’s steady work and it’s important for the local infrastructure, even if it’s just us sitting in a quiet office in Nildih. We’ve been here for years.
