Zen Car

Zen Car is right on K. V. Road in Jamnagar, specifically located opposite the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Being across from the temple means we hear the bells ringing at different times of the day, which is actually quite nice. The shop is usually dusty because of the cars coming in and out of the lot. We have grease on our hands most of the time, and there are always a few rags scattered around the floor. It is hot work, especially in the middle of summer, but we have a big tree nearby that gives a little bit of shade in the morning. People stop by often, sometimes just to ask for directions since the temple is such a big landmark. The office part of the building is just a small room with a desk and a couple of chairs for people to wait. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most of the space is taken up by the cars we are working on and the tools we need to fix them. My boots are pretty worn out from walking on the hard ground all day. We keep a stash of cold water in a small fridge in the corner because you really need it. It is a basic operation here. We open up early, work until the sun starts to set, and then we lock the gates and head home. The routine is the same every week.
