V. V. Industries

V. V. Industries is over at C-2/306 in GIDC-1, Shankar Tekri, Udyognagar, Jamnagar. Being in Jamnagar means we are surrounded by lots of similar businesses. Our unit is just one of many on this street. It’s a busy place with a lot of noise from the machines and the traffic outside. We don’t have much in the way of a front office. When you walk in, you’re pretty much right there in the middle of everything. We have our lathes and other tools set up to make the most of the space. It can feel a bit cramped when we have a lot of raw material delivered, but we manage. The people working here have a lot of experience. They don't need a lot of direction. We just look at the orders for the day and get started. We have tea together in the afternoon, which is a nice break from the constant humming of the machines. We don't use any corporate jargon or have big meetings about strategy. We just talk about what needs to be fixed or how to finish a certain job faster. The building is made of concrete and brick, and it gets quite warm in the summer months. We just keep the doors open to get a bit of a breeze. It’s a very basic setup, but it’s ours. We just show up and do the work that’s in front of us every day.
