Prakash Screw Industries

We are over in Jamnagar, specifically in the GIDC-1 area at Shankar Tekri. If you know this part of town, you know it is mostly industrial sheds and small workshops everywhere. Prakash Screw Industries is at B-2/57. It is noisy because of the machines running all day long. My father started this a long time ago and now I handle most of the daily stuff. The floor is always a bit oily, and there is that smell of metal and coolant that never really goes away. We make screws mostly. It is not glamorous work but it is what we know how to do. Some days the electricity cuts out and we just sit outside the shed for a bit until it comes back. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Word travels by mouth in this udyognagar. You get a reputation for doing the work and that is enough. The heat in the afternoon can get pretty bad under the tin roof, so we keep a big water cooler near the door. It is a lot of hard work and keeping track of orders on handwritten ledgers. We have our regulars who have been coming to us for years. It is just a steady routine of cutting, threading, and packing things into bags to be sent out.
