Perfect Industries

You can find us at B-23 in the Gidc. - 1 section of Shankar Tekri Udyognagar. Being in Jamnagar, we are surrounded by a lot of other industrial shops. Our place, Perfect Industries, is just one of many on this street. We have a routine here that hasn't changed much over the years. We open up early, usually before the sun gets too high and makes the metal too hot to touch. The workshop floor is always covered in some kind of shavings or oil, no matter how much we sweep. It is a practical space, meant for hard work, not for showing off to guests. We have a small desk tucked in the corner where we keep our registers and bills. Most of the time, the noise from the neighbors' machines is so loud we have to shout to hear each other. We don't mind it, though. It’s just the sound of the area. We handle the tasks as they come in. Some jobs are easy and some take all day. We don't have a website or anything like that. If someone needs us, they usually just walk in or call the landline. We drink a lot of water because of the heat. The shed is old but it keeps the rain out. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done. It is not always easy, but it is our living.
