Padmavati Cast

We are located over at 10 Falia Vadi, just behind the Bhagvati Hotel in the Udyognagar Road area of Jamnagar. Padmavati Cast is a place where we do a lot of metal work and casting. Jamnagar is well known for this kind of stuff, so we fit right in with the neighborhood. The workshop is always a bit dark and hot because of the furnaces and the molten metal. We wear heavy gear even when it’s boiling outside. It’s not an easy job but it’s what we know how to do. The floor is usually covered in sand and bits of metal from the day's work. We spend our time making molds and pouring the liquid metal into them. It takes a lot of patience to get it right and avoid any bubbles. My father taught me a lot about this, and now I’m running things with a few helpers who have become like family. We don't have a website or a big sign. Most of our work comes from the same shops we’ve dealt with for years. Sometimes we have a lot of scrap metal piled up in the corner waiting to be reused. The noise of the grinders is constant throughout the day. We stop for a break around noon and sit in the shade to eat. It’s a tough environment but there’s a sense of accomplishment when a difficult piece comes out perfectly. We just keep the fires going and stay busy.
