Micromate

We at Micromate are over at B-52/1 in the Gidc area of Shanker Tekri. It’s part of Udyognagar, a place where there’s always something being made. Our unit is just a basic shop floor with a small section partitioned off for the paperwork. The floor is stained with oil and there’s metal dust in the corners. It’s not the cleanest place, but it’s a working shop. We have a lot of heavy machines that take up most of the space. They make a loud buzzing sound that you get used to after a few days. We start our day by checking the machines and making sure everything is oiled up properly. The heat in Shanker Tekri can be tough, so we drink a lot of water throughout the afternoon. There’s a small sink in the back for washing up. We don’t have a receptionist or anything like that. If you come in, one of us will just wipe our hands on a rag and come talk to you. The address is painted in black letters on the front gate so people don’t miss it. It’s a simple operation. We just focus on the tasks at hand and try to get everything finished by the time the sun goes down. Sometimes we have to stay late and work by the light of a few bulbs. It’s just honest work in a busy part of town and we’ve been here quite a while.
