Meera Udyog

Meera Udyog is right here at Plot No. 380 in the Gidc-1 part of Shankar Tekri. If you know the Jamnagar industrial area, you know it gets pretty busy around Udyognagar in the mornings. We have been working out of this spot for a while now. The workshop isn't fancy or anything like that. It’s mostly just the machines running and the guys getting things done. We keep the doors open usually because it gets really hot inside during the afternoon sun. There’s always some metal being moved or someone checking on a batch of parts. The floor is concrete and has some oil stains from the years of work we’ve put in here. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we just wait it out or find something else to clean. We aren't trying to be some big corporate office. It is just a place where we come to work every day, drink some tea from the stall across the road, and make sure the orders are sitting ready by the gate when the truck arrives. The neighbors around Plot 380 are similar shops, so there is always noise from hammers or lathes echoing down the street. It’s just how things are in this part of Jamnagar. We keep our tools organized as best as we can, though things get messy when we are in the middle of a big job. It’s a simple setup but it works for us.
