Jupiter Brass Molding Works

We've been here at 84/1, Shanker Tekri for quite a while now. Most people around Jamnagar know this area, Udyognagar is usually busy with all the Gidc workshops. My dad started things with a couple of machines and we just kept going with the brass molding. It’s hot work, especially in the summers, but that’s just how it is. We handle a lot of different brass parts. People come by the shop looking for specific fittings or custom pieces they can’t find elsewhere. The machines are old but they work well if you treat them right. We usually start early in the morning before the sun gets too high. Jamnagar has always been about brass, so we fit right in here at Shanker Tekri. There is always noise from the other units nearby. Sometimes the power goes out, so we sit outside and talk. It’s not fancy, just a workshop where we get things done. We don't have a big office or anything, just the floor where the work happens. If you walk down the lane past the main gate, you’ll see our sign for Jupiter Brass Molding Works. We've seen the neighborhood change over the years. Some shops closed, new ones opened up. But we stay right here at 84/1. It’s a lot of manual labor, cleaning the molds and pouring the metal. My hands are usually covered in grit by lunchtime. That's life in the Gidc. We just try to keep the orders moving.
