Jasmin Products

We’ve been over here at Plot No. 515/4 in Gidc - 1 for a while now. Most people know this part of Jamnagar as Shankar Tekri Udyognagar. It’s a busy spot. You can hear the machines humming from the street before you even get through the door of Jasmin Products. Our day usually starts pretty early, around 8:00 or 9:00, depending on who gets here first to open the gate. The sun gets really hot on the tin roof by noon, so we try to get the heavy lifting done before it becomes unbearable inside. The shop floor is always covered in some kind of metal shavings, and there is always a truck idling outside waiting for something. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just a couple of desks, some chairs that have seen better days, and a lot of filing cabinets. The tea guy comes by twice a day, and that’s when most of us take a break to sit near the entrance and catch a breeze. People around here are mostly working on brass parts since that’s what Jamnagar is famous for. We just keep our heads down and handle whatever orders come in that week. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour, and we just sit outside and talk until it comes back on. It’s just how things go at Plot 515/4. We don't really think about it much, it's just work.
