Jamnadas Karshandas Co. is located at K-1/257 in the Gidc area of Shankar Tekri. It is one of those places where you just show up and start the machines. Jamnagar gets really hot in the summer, and this part of the Udyognagar doesn't have much shade. We spend most of our time inside the unit. The floors are concrete and there is always a layer of dust from the work being done. It isn't a quiet place. You can hear the hum of equipment from the neighboring units all day long. We have been at this address for a long time now. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we see the same faces every morning at the tea stall on the corner. Sometimes the deliveries are late because the trucks get stuck in the narrow lanes of the industrial estate. We don't have a big office or anything like that. There is just a desk where we keep the papers and a phone that rings quite a bit. It’s a practical setup. We handle whatever tasks come our way and try to keep things moving. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but that isn't really a priority when there is work to finish. It’s just a regular industrial shop in a busy part of town where people come to get things made. We stay busy and keep to ourselves mostly.
