About Gaytri Tools – Metals & Minerals in Jamnagar
Shankar Tekri is a busy part of Jamnagar, and our unit at Plot 467/a is right in the thick of it. If you walk into Gaytri Tools, you’ll immediately notice the smell of cutting oil and the sound of metal hitting metal. It’s not a fancy setup by any means. We have our lathes and grinding machines lined up along the walls, and there’s usually a pile of steel rods sitting near the back door waiting to be processed. The floor is concrete and has seen better days, with plenty of marks from years of moving heavy equipment around. Most of us have been working here a long time, so we know exactly which machine makes which noise and when something needs a bit of grease. The office is just a partitioned area with a couple of chairs and a fan that squeaks a bit when it’s on the high setting. We spend our days making bits and pieces, checking measurements with calipers, and packing things into wooden crates for shipping. Lunch breaks usually happen right there at the workbenches or sitting on some empty crates outside if the weather is decent. It’s a simple way of working, without any big corporate meetings or complicated systems. We just look at the orders for the day and get to it. Sometimes the power goes out in the GIDC, and we all just sit outside until it comes back on. It’s just how life goes in Udyognagar.
