Diamond Industries

Diamond Industries is located right here in Shankar Tekri, Jamnagar. If you know Gidc-1, you know it’s a busy spot with lots of trucks coming and going. Our place at Plot No. 373/11 is just a standard industrial shed. It’s got high ceilings and those metal sheets that rattle a bit when the wind picks up. We’ve been operating out of Udyognagar for years. It’s noisy because of the machinery, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. Most of us have been working together for a long time. We start early before the sun gets too hot, though by noon it’s always scorching inside. There is a small desk in the corner where we keep the paperwork, usually covered in a bit of dust from the floor. We don't spend much time on decorations or making things look pretty. It’s about the metal and the work. Sometimes the power goes out and we all just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. You’ll see the sign for Diamond Industries near the entrance, though it might be a bit faded now. It’s a straightforward shop. We make what’s needed and try to keep things moving. The roads around here get pretty muddy during the monsoon, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the floors then. It is a lot of work but we have a good rhythm going here.
