D. Kishor Co.

D. Kishor Co. is set up in Sp. Shed No. 414, which is part of the GIDC in Shankar Tekri. We are in the Udyognagar area, right across from the GEB office. It’s a very practical part of town. The shed is basically a large shell where we have all our tools and equipment laid out. It’s not a place for anyone who is afraid of a little grease or noise. The floor is hard concrete and it’s seen a lot of wear over the years. We have some big metal doors that we slide open every morning to let the air in. Sometimes birds fly in and nest in the rafters, and we just leave them be. It’s a bit of a rough-and-ready environment. We don't have a lobby or a place for visitors to sit, except for a couple of plastic chairs near the desk. The desk itself is covered in blueprints and old coffee rings. We don't spend money on marketing or fancy brochures. People find us because they know where shed 414 is. The work is steady, and we just focus on getting through the list of things to do each day. It gets loud when the machines are all running at once, so we’ve learned to talk over the noise. It’s just a regular industrial life here in Shankar Tekri. We don't pretend to be anything more than a small working shop.
