D. J. Brass

If you walk down Street No. 4 in the Digvijay Plot area, you’ll find us at number 58. D. J. Brass has been part of this Udyognagar neighborhood for quite a while. It’s a dusty part of Jamnagar, especially when the wind picks up around Hinglaj Chowk. Our workshop is full of the smell of oil and the sound of metal being turned. We don’t have a big shiny sign or a receptionist. Usually, you’ll just find one of us standing near the doorway or checking on a machine. We started small and stayed that way because it’s easier to manage things when you can see everything happening at once. The guys working here have been with us for years. We know each other's families and what everyone likes to eat for lunch. We deal with brass parts all day long, and by the evening, everyone’s clothes are a bit greasy. It isn't a glamorous job, but it is what we do. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or brochures. People around here know where we are if they need something made. We just try to get the work done right so we don't have to do it twice. It’s loud, it’s hot in the summer, and there is always something to clean up, but we like the routine of it. Even when it’s busy, we find time for a quick break outside to catch some air.
