Chandrika Industries

You’ll find Chandrika Industries over at Row Type 86/2 in GIDC-1, Shankar Tekri. This is the heart of the Udyognagar area in Jamnagar. If you know this part of town, you know it’s packed with small factories and workshops. Our place is one of many, just a standard industrial shed like the rest. It’s a bit cramped inside because we’ve got quite a bit of machinery packed in. The air usually smells of oil and cut metal, which is something you just stop noticing after a few days. We’ve been here for years, and we know all our neighbors. Sometimes we borrow tools from each other or just stand out on the street for a quick chat during a break. It’s a real working-class neighborhood. We don’t have a lobby or anything like that. When you walk in the door, you’re basically standing right in the middle of the workspace. It’s loud and it can get pretty hot, especially in the afternoons when the tin roof picks up the heat. We just keep the fans going and keep working. We aren’t interested in looking corporate or polished. We just want to make sure the parts we produce are right. Chandrika Industries is just a small team of us doing our best every day in the GIDC. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till night.
