Being up here on the 1st floor of Town Hall gives us a bit of a view of the street, but mostly we are just looking at the fabric on the cutting tables. Ad Garments isn't a massive operation. It’s just a handful of us working in this space. We do a lot of sewing and checking for loose threads. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit steep, so carrying rolls of cloth up here is a workout every morning. We don’t use fancy software to track everything. We mostly rely on paper notebooks and a lot of memory. It gets loud when all the machines are running at once, so you have to shout a little to be heard over the hum. We make different kinds of garments depending on what’s needed that month. Some days it’s shirts, other days it might be something else entirely. We don’t really have a showroom with bright lights. It’s more of a workshop where people can come and see what we’re currently stitching. The light coming through the windows is usually enough during the day, which is nice. We spend a lot of time just making sure the seams are straight. It’s honest work. We aren't trying to be some big brand you see on billboards. We just want to finish the work we have on our plate and go home to our families at the end of the shift.
