Tejas Traders

You can find us down at the Grain Market. We go by Tejas Traders. It's a busy spot, especially in the mornings when all the trucks are coming in and out. We have been here for a long time, and we know just about everyone else on the block. Our day starts pretty early, usually before the sun is fully up, to get everything ready for the buyers. We deal in grains, obviously, and it's a lot of lifting and weighing. There is nothing fancy about what we do. It is just moving bags and making sure the quality is what it should be. We don't have a website with fancy pictures because most of our business is done face-to-face or over a quick phone call. People know where we are if they need us. The air always smells like dust and seeds, which is something you get used to after a few days. We keep our books by hand mostly, and we don't bother with much corporate talk. If the grain is good, we buy it. If someone needs it, we sell it. It's been the same way for years. Sometimes the market is up and sometimes it is down, but we just keep showing up. It is a loud, crowded place to work, but it feels right to be in the middle of it all. We are just local people doing a job that needs doing every single day.
