Sree Digvijay Cement Co Ltd

We’ve been here in Digvijaygram, Gujarat, for quite a long time. The whole town is basically built around the work we do at the cement company. It’s a dusty place, as you can imagine with cement, but it’s our home. We aren't a small shop; we’re a pretty big operation, but we still try to keep things feeling local. Our office is right there on the main site. Every day is the same routine: the trucks come in, the machines hum, and we make sure the bags are filled and shipped out. It’s hard work, and it’s not always pretty. The sun in Gujarat is really strong, so we all take our lunch breaks in the shade. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We make cement that people use to build their houses and roads. It’s practical, heavy work. There are a lot of us here, and we’ve seen the company change over the years, but the core of it stays the same. We have our problems like any other place—sometimes a machine breaks down or the shipments get delayed—but we just fix it and keep going. We don’t have a glossy brochure or a polished public image. We’re just a bunch of workers in a dusty town making something that lasts. That’s about all there is to say about us. We just keep building things.
