Shirazi General Store

Our store is right there in Takiya Para, very close to the Madrasa Chowk in Bhanvad. If you are heading towards the Axis Bank, you will likely pass us on the way. It is a general store, so we try to keep a bit of everything on the shelves for the local families. Things can get a little crowded inside when a few customers come in at once because we have so many different items packed into the small space. We spend a lot of time checking the inventory and writing down what we need to order for the next week. Sometimes the kids from the madrasa stop by for snacks or a cold drink when the sun is out. The neighborhood is fairly quiet in the afternoons, then it picks up again in the evening when everyone is out running errands. We do not have fancy displays or anything like that. It is just rows of biscuits, soaps, and household things that people need for their homes. The door stays open most of the day to let a little breeze in. We have been here long enough that we know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. Sometimes we run out of things faster than expected and have to tell people to come back tomorrow morning. It is just the way it goes running a small place like this. We keep the counter clear so there is room to pack up the bags.
