This branch of Saurastra Cement is out in Jamnagar district, specifically at Lamba-Bandar. We are right near the New S.B.S. area. It is a bit of a trek if you are coming from the main city, but it is where the action is for us. Being near the Bandar means we see a lot of maritime activity. The air always smells like the sea here. Our work is mainly focused on getting cement out to the coastal projects and the rural areas around Jamnagar. It is a dusty environment, and the wind can be quite strong coming off the water. We do not have a lot of the comforts of a city office. It is more of a functional space. We have a couple of ceiling fans that struggle in the summer heat. We mostly talk to truck drivers and warehouse workers all day. It is a very hands-on kind of job. We do not spend time on fancy websites or brochures. Word of mouth is how most people find us out here. We have built up a reputation over the years for just being reliable. If we say the cement is coming, it is coming. We know the local roads like the back of our hands. Life at Lamba-Bandar is simple. We work hard, look at the ocean, and then head home to our families. It is not for everyone, but it suits us just fine.
