S.L.D. Hardware

S.L.D. Hardware is based out of No. 4486 on L-Road, right in the middle of G.I.D.C. Phase 3, near Satyam Colony. Being in an industrial area like this means there is always a layer of dust on everything and the sound of trucks is constant. We have a lot of heavy hardware and metal pieces stored throughout the unit. It’s a large space but it fills up fast with all the bins and racks we have. Most of our day is spent helping people find the right bolt or tool for their job. We don’t have a fancy counter; usually, we just meet people on the floor and walk over to where the items are kept. The heat can get pretty bad in the afternoons since the roof is just corrugated metal, so we keep a few fans running all day. We have been in this part of G.I.D.C. for several years now and have seen a lot of other businesses come and go. We just keep doing our thing, making sure the stock is organized even if it doesn’t look perfect. It's a lot of heavy lifting and moving crates around with the pallet jack. Sometimes the phone rings and we can barely hear it over the noise from the workshop next door. It's a gritty, busy place to work, but we like the pace of it and the folks who stop by to buy supplies.
