Down in Sikka, near Jamnagar, you’ll find us in the D.C.C. Colony. Our address is Quarter No A-4/48. It is really close to the Hanuman Temple, which is the main landmark around here. Working for Reliance Engg. Asso. Pvt. Ltd. out of a colony house gives it a very specific feel. It’s not like those shiny offices in the city. Here, you’re part of the neighborhood. The wind from the coast brings in a bit of salt, and everything has that slightly worn look. We spend our days dealing with engineering tasks. The rooms are a bit cramped with all the files and equipment we have to store. People from the nearby plants often drop by to check on things. We’ve got a small porch where we sit sometimes when the weather is decent. It’s a very practical setup. We know the security guards and the neighbors by name. Jamnagar is an industrial hub, so even in a small colony like this, you feel the energy of the big refineries nearby. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a polished front desk. We just have our work clothes and a lot of coffee. It’s the kind of place where things get done without a lot of fuss. Sikka is a quiet town, but we stay busy enough with the association work. It’s just a normal day for us. There's always something to fix or a drawing to look over.
