Trambakeshwar Enterprises

Setting up shop right by the Victoriya Bridge on the Rajkot Highway was a choice we made because of the location. There is a constant stream of trucks and cars passing by at all hours. Trambakeshwar Enterprises is basically a large shed and a small office space right on the edge of the highway. It gets quite dusty because of all the vehicles, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the glass. The noise from the bridge is like background music to us now. We have a lot of space for storage, which is necessary for what we do. Inside, it’s mostly just metal desks and some heavy-duty shelving. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of big pedestal fans that move the hot air around. It’s a gritty, hardworking environment. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep going. Most of our visitors are truck drivers or people traveling along the highway. We don't bother with a formal dress code. Everyone wears what’s comfortable for manual work. The sun hits the front of the building hard in the afternoon, so we usually pull down the shutters a bit. It’s a simple operation, focused on the logistics of being near a major road. We’re just here every day, making sure things get loaded and unloaded on time. That is the long and short of it for us here.
