Bharat Machine Tools

Bharat Machine Tools sits on Pandit Nehru Marg, right across from where the Brooke Bond building is. It’s a busy road, and we fit right in with the industrial feel of the neighborhood. Our shop is full of heavy iron and the smell of machine oil. We’ve been working with tools for a long time, so our hands are usually a bit stained from the metal. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find plush carpets or air-conditioned lobbies. We have workbenches, lathes, and a lot of steel. Most of our day is spent fixing parts or helping someone find the exact tool they need for a repair. It’s loud, and there’s usually a lot of clanging going on, but that’s just how a machine shop sounds. We don’t do a lot of talking unless it’s about the job at hand. People come to us because they know we have the gear and we’ve been at this address for years. Opposite Brooke Bond is a good spot because everyone knows the landmark. We see the same faces often, mechanics and builders who need something specific for their own shops. We don’t have a big marketing department or anyone to answer phones with a script. We just have our tools and the work we do every day. It’s a straightforward life on Pandit Nehru Marg, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
