Shree Jamnagar Shipping Agent Association

Our office is located at the Kanchanjungha Apartment, right across from the Cricket Bunglow in Jamnagar. Dineshbhai Vithlani is the one who keeps things moving here at the association. Being a shipping agent group, we deal with a lot of movement at the port and all the paperwork that comes with it. The apartment office isn't like those glass buildings you see in big cities. It's a lived-in space with plenty of files and maps of the coastline. We spend hours talking to different agents and trying to sort out the logistics of various vessels. The view outside towards the Cricket Bunglow is nice, but we are usually too busy looking at manifests and schedules to notice. Jamnagar is a major hub for this kind of work, so there is always something happening. People drop by throughout the day to discuss shipping routes or customs issues. We sit around the main table and work through the problems together. It’s more of a community feel than a corporate one. We don't go for big speeches or fancy titles. We just want to make sure the ships get in and out without too many delays. Sometimes the work goes late into the night when a ship is due. It’s a lot of coordination and simple hard work. We keep the kettle going for coffee and just keep at it until the job is done.
