Sharad Brass Industries

We’ve been operating out of Sp. Plot No. 24/1 in Jamnagar for a long time now. We are right near the Nutan Gujrat Transport office, so there’s always a lot of heavy trucks pulling in and out nearby. Being in Jamnagar, brass is what we know. The workshop is full of the sound of lathes turning and metal being shaped. It’s a noisy environment, but you get used to it after the first week. There are brass shavings all over the floor, and we spend a good chunk of the evening sweeping them into piles. We make all sorts of small components and parts that people need. It’s a lot of manual work, sitting at the machines and making sure everything looks right. The tea man comes by twice a day, which is usually the highlight when things get busy. Our space isn't very large, so we have to be careful about where we stack the finished boxes. Sometimes the heat from the furnaces makes it hard to breathe, but we keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through. It’s a simple business, really. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just focus on the metal and making sure the orders are ready when the transport guy shows up at the gate. It's a living, and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk.
