Raichura Perfumery Works

You can find us in the Arysamaj Building, which is just outside the Khambhalia Gate. It’s an old landmark, and we’ve been here for quite some time now. Raichura Perfumery Works is a small, family-run business. The air around our shop usually smells like the different ingredients we’re using that day. It’s a bit of a cramped space with shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling. We have bottles and jars tucked into every corner. It’s not the most organized place, but we know exactly where everything is kept. Outside, the area around Khambhalia Gate is always busy with traffic and people walking by. We don't mind the noise much. We mostly just keep our heads down and focus on the mixing and packing. It’s all done by hand, the way it’s been done for years. We don't use much in the way of big machinery. It’s more about the feel of the materials. We don't have a big sales team. Most people who buy from us have been coming here for a long time. We like the history of this building and being part of this old neighborhood. Sometimes the power goes out or the roof leaks a bit when it's raining hard, but we just deal with it. It’s just part of being in an older building. We’re happy with our small corner here.
