Jay Janta Confectionery Works

You can find Jay Janta Confectionery Works over by the Old Jail Compound, right near Tamboli Market. It’s an interesting part of town with a lot of history. We’ve been set up here for a long time. The building we are in is old, but it works for what we do. Making sweets and confectionery takes up most of our time. It’s a sticky business, honestly. There is always sugar being boiled or something being cooled on the large marble tables. The smell of caramel and sugar is pretty much stuck in the walls by now. We are a small operation. Most of the people working here have been with us for years. We don't have any fancy robots or high-tech machines. We do a lot of things by hand because that’s how we learned to do it. Tamboli Market is right next door, so it’s always lively around here. We get our supplies and then get to work. Sometimes the heat in the kitchen gets to be a bit much, especially in the afternoons. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. Most people know where we are and what we make. We just focus on getting the recipes right and making enough to keep everyone happy. It’s a simple life, and we like being in this part of the city. We just keep the stoves going and the trays full.
