Being over by the Grain Market means life starts before the sun is even up. H R & Sons has been operating across from the Central Bank of India for years, and the routine hasn't changed much. You’ve got trucks coming in, bags being stacked, and a lot of talk about the weather and crop prices. It’s a busy place, especially during the harvest seasons when there’s hardly room to walk between the piles. We keep track of everything in old ledgers and try to make sure every customer gets what they need without too much of a wait. The dust from the grain gets on everything, and your clothes usually smell like the market by noon. It's dusty work. We aren't some big corporate office with air conditioning and fancy chairs. We sit on wooden stools and drink tea while we wait for the next delivery to arrive. People know us by name around here, and we know most of them too. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook, and other times it’s quiet enough to actually hear the traffic outside. We just do our bit in the market and go home when the gates close. It's been the family way for a long time now. We don't need any big posters to tell people who we are or what we do here daily.
