Gokul Brass Industries

We’ve been over here on Street No. 2 in Gokul Nagar for a good while now. If you walk down the main road, you can usually hear the sound of the lathes running before you even see the sign for Plot No. 70. It’s a pretty basic setup inside the Mukta Estate. We’ve got our machines lined up and there’s always a bit of brass shavings on the floor, no matter how much we sweep. Working with metal is loud and can get quite hot in the summers, but that’s just how it goes in this line of work. Most of the guys here live nearby, so we all know each other well. We don't have a fancy front office or anything like that. Usually, someone is just sitting at the small wooden desk near the entrance handling the paperwork. People come by asking for specific parts or custom work, and we just see what we can do on the machines we have. Sometimes the power goes out and we all just sit outside on the steps until it comes back on. It’s not a corporate place. We just make the brass items, pack them into crates, and get them loaded onto the trucks that pull up in the alley. It’s dusty and cramped, but we get the work done day after day without making a big fuss about it.
