Akshar Brass Industries / Cabtek Electrical Accessories

We are based in the Gidc Phase II area in Jamnagar. Our unit is 4027. Jamnagar is famous for brass, so we fit right in with everyone else around here. We make various brass parts and some electrical accessories under the Cabtek name. The workshop is noisy and hot, especially during the summer months. There’s always the sound of metal hitting metal and the smell of oil. We have a group of workers who have been with us for a long time. They know the machines better than anyone. We don’t have a fancy front office; it’s just a small room with a fan and a big desk where we keep the ledgers. We do a lot of measuring and checking because brass parts have to be just right. If the size is off by a little bit, the whole batch is no good. We don’t use any marketing tricks to get customers. People know us because we’ve been in Gidc for years. We handle the shipping ourselves mostly, packing the crates and labeling them by hand. It’s hard work and your hands are always dirty by the end of the day. Sometimes we stay late to finish a big batch for a client in another city. We just keep our heads down and do the manufacturing. It’s what we know how to do here in Jamnagar, and we’ve been doing it a long time. It’s what keeps us going through the week.
