We are based in the Swastik Society, over at house number 12. It’s a fairly well-known spot in Jamnagar. Our office handles the cost control side of the projects. It might sound more complicated than it actually is. Mostly, we just keep a close track of where the money is going and make sure we aren't wasting any resources. It involves a lot of looking at long rows of numbers and talking to the guys working on the actual sites. The office at Essar House is usually completely full of papers and folders. We aren't really into the high-tech digital systems as much as some other people are, though we do use computers for the basic things. We still prefer a good paper ledger and a simple calculator. It’s much quieter here than at the actual building sites, which is good because we really need to concentrate on the details. Jamnagar is our base, and we’ve been a part of the local landscape here for a long time. We don’t bother putting out any big advertisements. Most of our work comes from being part of the larger company structure already. We just do our part, finish our tasks, and then go home. Some days the paperwork feels like a huge mountain, but we just chip away at it. It’s honest, steady work. We don’t pretend to be more than we are.
