Dodhia Brass Molding Works

If you find yourself in GIDC-1, we are located at Hirji Mistri Bhavan. Our workshop is on the first floor at number 58. It is a bit of a climb up the stairs, especially if we are carrying heavy materials. We do brass molding here, so the whole place has that metallic smell and it gets pretty hot near the machines. It is not the cleanest job in the world. Our clothes usually have stains and our hands are always dark from the metal. We have been in this spot for quite a while now. The industrial estate is always noisy with the sounds of other workshops, so we are used to shouting over the din. We don't have a fancy showroom or a reception area. If you come to see us, you’ll just find us in the middle of the molds and the sand. We take our work seriously but we are pretty relaxed about everything else. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things lively. The post office is nearby, which is handy for us. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a corporate look. We just want to make sure the brass parts come out the way they are supposed to. It is repetitive work, day after day, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep our heads down and get through the orders, hoping the electricity stays on all day.
