About Director General Of Lighthouses & Lightships – Metals & Minerals in Jamnagar
We are over at Deep Bhavan in Jamnagar, specifically in the office of the Director General Of Lighthouses & Lightships. If you come by the Directorate, you'll probably find the Assistant Executive Engineer or some of the other staff dealing with all the paperwork and maintenance schedules. It's a bit of a niche job, looking after lighthouses and those lightships that stay out there. We’ve been at this 361 008 area for a while now. The building is just a regular place where we manage the technical side of things. It isn't like the movies where someone is sitting in a tall tower all night; it's more about the engineering and making sure the lights actually work. We have a lot of charts and equipment to keep track of. Some days are just filled with meetings about repairs or logistics for the lightships. It’s quiet work for the most part. We don't really have a big public front or anything. Just engineers and office staff trying to keep the coastal navigation bits running right. Sometimes it gets a bit busy when there’s a storm or something needs fixing urgently, but usually, it's just the daily grind of checking lists and making calls. It’s what we do here in Jamnagar. No big mystery to it, just keeping the lights on for the ships out there. It’s been our routine for years now and we just keep at it.
