Shamjibhai D. Katariya

It’s Shamjibhai D. Katariya here at GIDC Phase-2. We have been at Plot No. E-16 near Randal Chowk for quite a while now. The yard gets busy early in the morning. People come in and out, and there’s always something needing to be sorted or moved. It is not fancy, just a workspace where we get things done. Some days the heat is a bit much, but that’s just how it goes in this part of town. We keep things moving. Most of the folks around here know us by name because we’ve been around the chowk for years. It is a lot of manual work, keeping track of orders and making sure the trucks are loaded right. Sometimes things get a bit messy, but we clean up and start again the next day. Being near Randal Chowk means there is always traffic, which can be a headache, but it makes us easy to find. We do not spend much time on computers or fancy office stuff. Most of our day is spent on the floor or outside by the gate. We have seen the area change a lot since we first set up here. New buildings go up, but we are still here doing the same things. It is a living, and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. We just focus on the job at hand and try to make sure everything leaves the gate in good shape. It takes a lot of patience to deal with the logistics, but we are used to it by now.
