Otam Industries

We’re located at Plot No. 506 in Phase-2 of the GIDC. This is a big industrial area, so there’s always a lot of noise and movement. We’re an industrial outfit. Most of our day is spent around machines and metal parts. It’s the kind of place where your hands stay dirty no matter how much soap you use. We have a variety of lathes and drills that we use for different tasks. Some of the equipment is newer, but we still have a few old reliable machines that we’ve had since the beginning. The floor is concrete and has a few cracks here and there. We don’t mind. It’s a workshop, not a hospital. We have a small team of workers who live nearby. They’ve been with us for years, so we all know how the other person works. We don’t have a fancy lunchroom, just a spot outside under the shade where we eat our tiffins. In the afternoons, the sun hits the metal roof and it gets quite warm inside. We just open the big doors to let the breeze through. We do a lot of custom work. People bring us a part that broke or a drawing of something they need. We figure out how to make it. There’s no big marketing department here. We just do the work and hope people like it enough to come back. It’s just how we do things.
