Over at Plot No. 407 in Phase-2 of the Gidc, you’ll find us at Naresh Steel Creation. As the name suggests, we deal with steel all day long. That means there is a lot of heavy lifting and the constant sound of grinders echoing through the space. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings, no matter how much we sweep up. We don't have a fancy showroom for people to browse through. Most people just come directly to the workshop to show us what they need built or repaired. We do a lot of welding, so there are always sparks flying in one corner or another. It’s hot work, especially in the summer months when the metal roof of the shed really starts to heat up. We don't follow some big corporate manual here. We just look at the blueprints or the sketches people bring in and figure out the best way to cut the beams. Some days are spent entirely on one big structure, while other days are filled with small odd jobs for local contractors. The crew here is small, mostly just a few guys who know their way around a torch and a hammer. We’ve been at this Gidc location for quite a while now. It’s a noisy, dusty life, but there is something satisfying about finishing a solid steel frame. We just keep our heads down and do the work we know how to do.
