Our workshop is at Plot 3585 in the third phase of the GIDC here in Jamnagar. Like many of our neighbors, we deal with hardware and brass metal parts. It's what this city is known for across the country. We have a few lathes and some drilling machines that have been with us since we opened up. They aren't the newest models you see in magazines, but they work perfectly if you know how to handle them. The space is a bit cramped because we have so many boxes of finished goods stacked up, but we know where everything is. We usually have the radio playing some old songs in the background while we work. It helps the day go by a bit faster. We don't do much advertising at all. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they are working in a unit right next door. We handle the shipping and packing ourselves most of the time. It is a family-run thing, so there is always someone around to talk to if there is an issue. We try to keep the floor swept, but with the metal shavings flying around, it's a never-ending job. We’ve been in this spot for quite a while now and have seen the whole area grow up around us. It used to be much quieter. Now there are trucks everywhere. We just keep our heads down.
