Arpan Enterprise

Being in Dared, Gidc means we are surrounded by workshops and factories of all kinds. You can hear the machines humming from the moment you park your scooter in the morning. Arpan Enterprise is just one of many small units here, but we stay busy. The floor is concrete and usually has some grease or metal shavings on it depending on what we are doing that day. We have a small office space partitioned off with some plywood, but mostly we are out on the floor. It gets really hot under the tin roof during May, so we have those big industrial fans going all the time. They make a lot of noise, but they help. Lunch is usually brought from home and we eat together quickly before getting back to the machines. The Gidc area is always dusty, and there’s a lot of scrap metal lying around the neighboring plots. We’ve been at this spot for several years now. It’s nothing special to look at, just a place where things get made or fixed. Sometimes the supply of raw materials gets delayed, and we have to shuffle the schedule around. It's just how it goes in this part of town. We know most of the guys in the shops next door, so we borrow tools or help each other out when someone’s truck gets stuck in the mud during monsoon. It is just steady, honest work.
