ATMA Project - Jamnagar

The ATMA Project in Jamnagar is based at the Khedut talim kendra. You can find us at the Bajara sanshodan kendra as well. Since we are a training center for farmers, our location is very important. We spend a lot of time out in the fields or in the classrooms talking about crops. The building isn't new, and it has that look of a government or research facility. It’s a bit dusty because of all the agricultural work going on around us. We have classrooms where the farmers sit and learn about new techniques for growing things. The Bajara research center is right there too, so there is always some talk about seeds and soil. We don’t have fancy office chairs, just the basic wooden ones. Most of our day is spent meeting with people who have come from nearby villages. We show them different ways to manage their farms better. It’s very hands-on work. Sometimes the equipment is a bit old, but we make it work. The sun gets very hot in Jamnagar, so we try to do the outside work early in the morning. We’re just a small team trying to help the local farmers get a better harvest. It’s a quiet place mostly, except when a big group of farmers arrives for a session. We hope the rains are good this year for everyone's sake.
