Asian Brass Products

Our workshop is at K-1-79/10 in the Shanker Takri area of G.I.D.C. Udyognagar. If you have ever been around here, you know it is a lot of metalwork and heat. We work with brass, turning it into different products for our customers. The smell of hot metal and the sound of machines are things you just get used to after working here for a week. It is a hot environment, especially in the summer months when the furnaces are going full blast. We keep the big doors open to try and get a breeze, but it does not always help much. Our space is not very big, so we have to be smart about where we stack the raw brass rods and the finished pieces. We have been in Shanker Takri for quite a while now. Most of us have been doing this for years, so we do not need much instruction anymore. It is a hands-on kind of place. You won't find anyone in a suit here; we are all in our dusty work clothes. Sometimes the orders are small, other times we have to produce hundreds of the same item. We just take it as it comes. The floor is usually covered in little brass shavings that we sweep up at the end of the day. It is a simple life, making things out of metal and making sure they look right.
