Arvind Industries

Our shop is Arvind Industries, and you can find us at Plot No. 649/A in Phase-II of the GIDC over by the Dared bypass. It’s a dusty part of town with a lot of trucks moving through all day. We’ve been set up here for quite some time now. We mainly work with metal and industrial parts. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, your hands usually end up covered in grease by noon, but it’s what we do. The bypass is always noisy, but you get used to it after a few weeks. We have a few heavy machines that take up most of the floor space. Sometimes they act up and we have to spend half the morning fixing them instead of producing. That’s just the way things go when you’re working with old iron. We try to keep a decent stock of materials so we don’t run out when a big order comes in. It’s a small group of us working here. Most of the guys live nearby, so we know each other pretty well. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you need someone, you usually have to shout over the sound of the lathe. We just focus on making sure the dimensions are right and the metal is cut clean. It’s honest work and we don’t try to make it sound like anything more than it is. We just keep the machines running and hope for the best.
