Our service center is out on the Jamnagar-Khambhaliya Highway. We are situated near Ravalsar Patiya, which is a good spot because it’s easy for people driving by to see us. Being an authorized Hyundai center, we see a lot of the same types of cars every day. The workshop is big and open to catch whatever breeze we can get. It’s usually loud with the sound of air guns and engines revving. There’s always a row of cars waiting for their turn to be looked at. We have a small waiting area for customers, but most of the action happens back in the bays. The floors get slippery with water and soap from the washing area, so we have to be careful. Our team wears uniforms that usually end up with some grease on them by lunchtime. Jamnagar is a hot place, so we deal with the sun hitting the metal roofs all day long. We keep track of everything on clipboards and a computer in the front office. It’s a straightforward business—cars come in with problems or just for a check-up, and we spend the day fixing them. There isn't much flair to the place; it’s built for utility. We open up early and usually stay until the last car is ready. It’s a busy life on the edge of the highway, but we like the pace and the variety of people we meet. It is hard work but we are used to the noise.
