Our business is over at Plot No 40 on Mohalla Chauban Road. It is right in the middle of Sadar Baazar, near Purani Mandi. This part of town is very old and the streets are narrow. We’ve been here for many years, following in the footsteps of those who started it. The building itself shows its age, but it’s sturdy. There is always a lot of activity in Sadar Baazar. You can hear the carts rattling over the stones and people calling out to each other. We spend our days handling the stock and talking to customers who have been coming to us for a long time. It’s not just about the business, it’s about the relationships we’ve built over the years. We carry a variety of items and our back room is usually full of crates and bags. Sometimes it’s hard to find a place to stand when a new shipment comes in. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the day to start. The tea seller comes by twice a day, and that’s when we take a short break. It is a traditional way of working. We use old ledgers and pens to keep track of everything. It might seem slow to some, but it works for us and our customers know what to expect when they walk in. We just keep things moving along on Chauban Road.
