People'S Hut Foundation

The People'S Hut Foundation is based in Jammu, specifically in the Nand Baba Colony area. We are located at units 28 and 29, which is quite near the tubewell in Lale Da Bagh. Using the tubewell as a landmark is usually the easiest way to tell people how to get here. It is a local neighborhood where everyone kind of knows each other. Our office isn't anything special to look at from the outside, just a couple of units where we keep our files and meet up. We like the name People’s Hut because it feels down-to-earth, and that is how we try to run things. There is no corporate ladder here or complicated hierarchies. We just sit around the table and figure out how to help out. The area can get quite hot in the summer, but we just keep the fans going and stay on task. It is a dusty part of town sometimes, with plenty of activity on the streets. We see our neighbors every day and that keeps us grounded in what the community actually needs. We don't spend money on big advertisements; we would rather just be here and be available if someone needs to drop by. It is a simple, practical way to operate, and being in Lale Da Bagh feels like the right fit for us. We are just regular people working for other regular people, keeping things as straightforward as possible.
