Our office for Metlife Insurance Company Pvt Ltd is situated in Lane 1 of Roopnagar Enclave. If you are in Jammu, you probably know the area. It’s at H.No 66/A. It’s a residential-looking place, nothing like the corporate towers in the big metros. We mostly handle insurance claims and new policies for the local residents here. The winters in Jammu can get pretty chilly, so we usually have a small heater running near the desks while we sort through the mail. It is a small team of us working here. Most mornings start with a quick chat and some tea before we dive into the computer work. The internet can be a bit slow sometimes which is frustrating when you are trying to upload a lot of data. We don't have a receptionist sitting at a fancy desk. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just gets up to see who is there. It’s a very informal way of doing things but it works for us. We’ve had some of the same clients for a long time and they just walk in without an appointment. It’s nice to have that kind of relationship with the neighbors. We aren't doing anything groundbreaking, just basic insurance work in a quiet enclave. We keep our files organized as best as we can and try to stay on top of the regulations. It is a steady job in a nice part of town.
