We’re located over at 50, Dhakki Sarajan on Link Road in Jammu. It’s a busy part of town, so finding a parking spot near our office can be a real headache some mornings. We handle insurance stuff for Metlife. It’s mostly sitting at desks, talking on the phone, and helping people figure out their paperwork. It’s not the most exciting job in the world, but people in Jammu and Kashmir need to have their stuff in order. Our office is a bit cramped, especially when we have a lot of walk-ins at the same time. We’ve got files stacked up and the computers are a bit old, but they get the job done eventually. We spend a lot of time explaining the different parts of the policies because the fine print is always confusing for everyone, including us sometimes. It feels like there’s always a new form to fill out or a different way to submit a claim. We just try to get through the stack of work each day. Most of us have lived in Jammu our whole lives, so we know the local neighborhoods well. Sometimes we stay late when the internet is slow or the winter weather makes everything take longer. It’s a straightforward setup here. No big glass buildings or fancy suits, just a regular office on a busy road where we try to keep things moving for the folks who come in to see us.
